About SonyaRenee Jewelry
SonyaRenee jewelry was created in 2002 by Gina Renee Peranio & Desiree Sonya Taylor who combined their middle names to form the entity, SonyaRenee L.L.C. Desiree & Gina became friends in high school through participating in sports together.. they also shared a passion for creating. Desiree attended college at Oklahoma University where she both played as a scholarship athlete on the women's basketball team as well as obtained her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. In 2004 Gina became SonyaRenee's sole owner while Desiree moved out of Texas to obtain her MBA and develop new business ventures.

Gina has been creating jewelry for herself and others since 1995 when she took a class on Macrame and started selling her hemp creations to fellow high school students. She continued as an entrepreneur throughout college while getting her Bachelors degree in Public Relations & Marketing from Texas Tech University. While attending Tech initially on a soccer scholarship, Gina maintained a jewelry business and sold her creations to fellow resident students. While taking a brief hiatus from jewelry making, Peranio also became interested in stained glass and sold her creations to local boutiques near her college campus.

After graduating from Texas Tech in 2001 Gina entered the business world and still maintained her passion for jewelry as a side business. Most recently she worked in commercial real estate for 3 years in Downtown Dallas and worked in Property Management and Marketing. While marketing industrial warehouses for the real estate company, Gina realized that her passion for jewelry had not subsided and she began to focus more of her free time on expanding her emerging jewelry business. In January 2007 Gina used her vacation time and jetted off to New York to participate in her first major trade show. Finding much success she was able to leave her full time job in commercial real estate and focus 100% of her time and energy into her favorite passion.. creating.

In 2006 Gina married her lucky husband Chris and they obsess over their dog Willie. Gina is most excited to be working in a field that she loves and continues to experience rapid success.

SonyaRenee designs are inspired by colors, texture, nature, fabrics, foreign places, and things that sparkle. Her creations reflect her awareness of what type of jewelry compliments current fashion, as well as what makes a woman feel good.

SonyaRenee jewelry is composed of semi-precious stones, pearls, 14kt gold, gold-filled, vermeil, sterling silver, and diamonds. In mid- 2006 SR introduced its first fine jewelry line. The collection of Fine Jewelry is composed of solid 14kt gold and diamond accents. New designs continue to emerge.
