Upon graduating college in 1981, Harry Haslet's first objective was to experience as much world culture as possible from a surfboard, skis, and hiking boots.

In each country he visited, Harry would weave through local marketplaces, with backpack and board, collecting unusual minerals, gems, ceremonial masks and indigenous art. When he returned home Harry brought intricately carved wood jewelry from Balinese craftspeople. And an idea.....Island Jewelry was conceived in 1986, with corporate headquarters in his mothers basement. Wood carvings quickly evolved into sterling silver earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings. Three years later, Island Jewelry had outgrown Harry's expectations and his carrying cases. Faced with the need for durable, attractive bags that would accommodate and compliment his jewelry, Harry created the Christian Livingston Collection of handbags. Christian Livingston is a line of comfortable, fashionable handbags that stays true to its roots with exceptional craftsmanship and functionality.

After a decade in business Harry Haslett's genuine approach to product and relationships has established both his jewelry and handbag collections as a favorite among customers.
